Marcel Rauschkolb (born 1965) is a photographer and visual artist based in Griesheim, Germany. He began his career as an advertising photographer and lab technician. He has continually expanded his skills through workshops and masterclasses with notable photographers such as Simon Norfolk, Rob Hornstra, and Erik Kessels. He holds a Master of Arts with distinction in Photography from Falmouth University, and his work has been exhibited in several galleries in Germany and the UK.
In his earlier work, Marcel adopted a documentary approach, focusing on mundane and often overlooked subjects. Recently, his interests have shifted toward themes with historical significance and the incorporation of vintage artefacts. His primary mediums include still photography and film, featuring his own and archival imagery. Over the past three years, his evolving interests have led him to explore rephotography, collage, and photographic objects.
In addition to his work as an artist, Marcel serves as a jury member for the Merck Prize at the Darmstadt Days of Photography and shares his knowledge as an art educator at the Kunsthalle Darmstadt.
